THE 3RD INTER-SCHOOL SPORTS OF THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY SCHOOLS

The Congregation of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ is holding the 3rd Inter-School Sports for all her schools from 17th to 19th March, 2014. 

Cor-Mariae Secondary School, Nkpor Agu is the venue for the grand event.  The participants include all the Primary Schools and Secondary Schools owned and managed by the Congregation.  From all parts of the Country, the participants from all the Secondary Schools  are arriving at Nkpor-Agu, Anambra State on the 16th March.

A Holy Mass at Novitiate Chapel, Nkpor will set off the day on the 17th March, followed by the Opening Ceremonies.  March Past, Hit and Track Events and Team Games are among the activities that will mark the day.  Throws and Team games will continue on the 18th March.

Wednesday, 19th March, will be the Grand Finale of the event.  On this very day, Prizes will be awarded to outstanding individuals and schools during the three days.   All the primary school participants will arrive and perform Match Past and Entertainment Races. 

Speaking on the event, the Sports Co-ordinator, Sr. Mary Janice Ononiba said that the Inter-School sports is  meant to encourage unity among the schools.  Organizers want them to know that they are one.  She also added that the students are gathering for spiritual upliftment as well which will include Holy Masses and prayers together. 

Sr. Ononiba will welcome the students on the evening of 16th March and brief them on the time table for the event.  She expects that the students will take the exercise as a game and behave well otherwise, they attract disqualification for their schools.  "They need to eat well, sleep well and perform well to succeed", she said.  The students will depart on the 20th, March.
