The IHM Sisters celebrated the feast of St. Denis with Most Rev. Denis Isizoh at the Villa Mater Christi IHM Retirement Home on 10th October, 2015.

Most Rev. Isizoh is the new Auxilliary Bishop of Onitsha Archdiocese.  His patronal feast was on the 9th of October but the Sisters celebrated the next day starting with a Holy Mass.  The Celebrant con-celebrated with his Secretary, Fr. Oliver Ezeani and Fr. Samuel Nwadike, the Chaplain of IHM Complex, Nkpor.

Bishop Isizoh based his homily on the theme – ‘Jesus went about doing good’.   He asserted that God has given everyone time to use and at the last day He will judge us on how we used it.  It is selfishness when one spends time just for oneself but worthwhile to share our time with others.  He urged the Sisters to make good use of their time and even give God time to stay with Him in the Chapel.

Bishop Isizoh interacted with the Sisters after Mass.  He tactfully answered many questions posed to him.  A reception that followed saw the students of Immaculata Model Secondary School, Nnewi, Madonna Schools, Owerri and Cor Mariae Girls’ Secondary School, Nkpor entertain everyone.

The Superior General read an address to his Lordship and the Sisters presented their feastday gifts.  He responded to the address and appreciated the IHM Sisters.  A lunch together followed in the refectory where there was also a toast of wine in honour of the celebrant.
