SPECIAL INVITATION: OPENING OF THE ELDERLY SISTERS’ HOME

On behalf of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ, may I invite you to the official opening of our newly completed Elderly Sisters’ Home built at Nkpor.

This project which was started in 2012 was born out of the need to provide a decent and relatively comfortable accommodation for our sick and elderly Sisters who are increasing in number. By the grace of God, the project has been completed. We request that you join us that day to thank God for his gracious assistance.

The Religious Institute of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ, wishes to organise a Symposium in honour of her Founder, Archbishop Charles Heerey CSSp, on the theme: Christian Faith and Mission in Eastern Nigeria: The Life and Work of Archbishop Charles Heerey CSSp (1890-1967).

The symposium is scheduled to take place at Madonna Renewal Centre, Nkpor, Onitsha Archdiocese

This is a programme that features lectures on the Blessed Virgin Mary. There will also be Marian Carnival, Rosary Procession and lots more.

Silver and Golden Jubilee celebration of 35 Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Mother of Christ at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha, Nigeria. Mass begins at 10.00am

The death anniversary and the month’s mind of these our Sisters who have passed into eternity are scheduled to take place as follows:

Please let us turn up in our usual large numbers to pray together once again as a family for the happy repose of these our beloved members.

His Eminence, Francis Cardinal Arinze, has for quite some time now, been visiting us, his spiritual daughters, whenever he visits home for his annual leave.

 

This year, we will get that same privilege to meet him, pray with him and chat with him.  We hope that you will turn up in large numbers for the occasion.

Sr. Mary Ephraim Nwanya was a native of Nnewi-Ichi, Nnewi in Nnewi Diocese and lived in our community at Uga in Awka Diocese until her death.

With deep sorrow in our hearts, but also with complete resignation to God’s will, we announce the departure into eternity of our beloved Sister Miriam Jacinta Onyeke, on Thursday, July 18, 2013.  May the Lord grant her eternal peace. Amen.

 

Sr. Miriam Jacinta Onyeke was a native of Ogrute, Enugu-Ezike in Nsukka Diocese and lived in our community at Nkpor until her death.

20 Novices of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ will be taking their first Religious vows on August 3, 2013. Join us in accompanying these our Sisters with our prayers as they take this important step in their life.

SR. BERNADETTE MARIA IHEAGWARA, IHM

With deep sorrow in our hearts, but also with complete resignation to God’s will, we announce the departure into eternity of our beloved Sister Bernadette Maria Iheagwara on 12th June, 2013. May the Lord grant her eternal peace. Amen.

 

Sr. Mary Bernadette Maria Iheagwara was a native Obeama Nguru in Aboh – Mbaise L.G.A, Ahiara Diocese and lived in our Immaculate Heart Convent, Oguta Road before her death

In a bid to move our institutions of learning to a greater height, both morally and academically and consolidate our Projects and Institution, we have set up Board of Governors for each of them. This Board of Governors will be inaugurated in a ceremony that will begin with the Holy Mass.

 

Date: SATURDAY, 16TH March 2013.

Venue: Madonna Renewal Centre, Nkpor

Time: 10.00am.

 

Members of these Boards are expected to be present to receive their operational mandate.

 

Thank you, dear brothers and Sisters, for your cooperation and willingness to serve.  May we continue to support and pray for one another till our purpose is realized – that is – the greater glory of God, our sanctification and salvation of all.  May our Immaculate Mother Mary continue to protect us and show us the way.

With deep sorrow in our hearts, but also with complete resignation to God’s will, we announce the departure into eternity of our beloved Sister Mary Vincentia Aribe, on Tuesday, February 19, 2013.  May the Lord grant her eternal peace. Amen.

 

Sr. Mary Vincentia Aribe was a native of Okwu, Uratta in Owerri Archdiocese and lived in our community at Waterside Onitsha before her death.
